WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-19 the Municipal Council of the City of Newark, New Jersey; adopted Resolution 7R1-f dated December 18, 2013, to provide temporary funds for the period of January 1, 2014 through March 31, 2014, and 7R1-m dated April 2, 2014 to provide temporary funds for the period of April 1, 2014 to April 30, 2014, and  Resolution  7R1-h dated May 7, 2014 to provide funds for the period of May 1, 2014 to May 31, 2014, and  Resolution  7R1-g dated June 5, 2014 to provide funds for the period of June 1, 2014 to June 30, 2014 and Resolution TE-#W5 to be considered and adopted at its scheduled meeting on August 6, 2014 to provide funds for the period of July 1, 2014 to July 31, 2014 until the adoption of the Operating Budget of the City of Newark, New Jersey; and
 
WHEREAS, additional appropriations will be required for the Water Utility from August 1, 2014 through August 31, 2014, until the adoption of the Operating Budget; and
 
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides that the Governing Body by a two-thirds vote may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period between the beginning of the current fiscal year and the date of the adoption of the budget for said year; and WHEREAS, the emergency appropriations adopted in 2014, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20, including this resolution total……………………………………$32,644,665.
 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
 
1.      The Governing Body by a two-thirds vote of its full membership hereby amends its temporary budget by making the following temporary emergency appropriations for the Water Utility:

2.      This resolution provides additional funds required to the date of adoption and action will take effect on August 1, 2014.

STATEMENT
 
This resolution hereby authorizes the City of Newark to provide additional funds required for the continued operation of the Water Utility for the period of August 1, 2014 through August 31, 2014, in the amount of $3,462,965.00.
