The City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee ($550.00) for the street festival will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and 

 

WHEREAS, the Newark Holiday Festival Kick-Off shall provide the City of Newark an opportunity to present a downtown festival showcasing culture, arts, dining, entertainment and more; and  

 

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Newark Holiday Festival Kick-Off, held on Halsey Street between New Street and Bleeker Street, on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 11:00A.M. until 3:00 P.M.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

 

1.                     The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Newark Holiday Festival Kick-Off, held on Halsey Street between New Street and Bleeker Street, on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.

 

2.                     This waiver shall be ratified to the date of this authoring Resolution.

 

3.                     The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Fee ($550.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

This Resolution supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the Halsey Street Festival, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees ($550.00), held on Halsey Street between New Street and Bleeker Street, on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M., co-sponsored by Council President, LaMonica R. McIver.
