WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is desirous of supporting the East Ward Community Meeting at South Street Elementary School, 44 Hermon Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 6:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event by supporting the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of South Street Elementary School, 44 Hermon Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of South Street Elementary School, 44 Hermon Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of South Street Elementary School, 44 Hermon Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, for a East Ward Community Meeting on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 6:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to South Street Elementary School, 44 Hermon Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, for their records.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports the issuance, by the City of Newark’s Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of South Street Elementary School, 44 Hermon Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of South Street Elementary School, 44 Hermon Street, Newark, New Jersey 07105, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 6:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., for the East Ward Community Meeting with Mayor Baraka and Leadership Team. This Resolution is ratified back from the date of adoption to July 31, 2025.
