Whereas, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the residents of Newark; and
WHEREAS, the Jazz in the Street Event will be held at the Clinton Avenue Community Soundstage, 436 Clinton Avenue, (corner of Peshine Avenue), Newark, New Jersey 07112, on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. (Rain Date: September 20, 2024). The City of Newark’s Special Event Application Fees of Eight Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents, ($800.00) will be waived; and
WHEREAS, the Jazz in the Street Event provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, as such, the Municipal Council indicates its support.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Jazz in the Street Event that will be held at the Clinton Avenue Community Soundstage, 436 Clinton Avenue, (corner of Peshine Avenue), Newark, New Jersey 07112, on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. (Rain Date: September 20, 2024).
2. The Municipal Council is sponsoring this event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fees of Eight Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($800.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
