WHEREAS, the City of Newark has a very large and vibrant Dominican community, which has contributed greatly to the progress of the City through its social, economic, and political growth; and
WHEREAS, the Annual Dominican Music Festival and Parade, pays tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the Dominican community and its’ contributions to the City of Newark and the Metropolitan Area; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council has indicated its’ support and co-sponsorship of the Annual Dominican Music Festival and Parade, to be held on Park Avenue, between First Street and Roseville Avenue, on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council hereby supports and declares co-sponsorship of the Dominican Music Festival and Parade, to be held on Park Avenue, between First Street and Roseville Avenue, on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council in co-sponsoring this special event waives the City of Newark’s event fees and costs, however does not waive the insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by the event organizers.

This resolution hereby supports and declares co-sponsorship of the Dominican Music Festival and Parade to be held on Park Avenue, between First Street and Roseville Avenue, on Sunday, July 8, 2018, from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M., sponsored by Councilman, Luis A. Quintana.
