WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is desirous of supporting the State of the West Ward Address at Donald M. Payne Sr. School of Technology, 498-544 W. Market St. Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event by supporting the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of the Board of Education of the Vocational Schools in the County of Essex, 60 Nelson Place, 1 North, Newark, New Jersey 07102.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of the Board of Education of the Vocational Schools in the County of Essex, 60 Nelson Place, 1 North, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Donald M. Payne Sr. School of Technology, 498-544 W. Market Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., for the State of the West Ward Address.
2. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to the Board of Education of the Vocational Schools in the County of Essex , 60 Nelson Place, 1 North, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for their records.
3. A copy of the executed Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement drawn by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission shall be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
STATEMENT
This Resolution supports the issuance, by the City of Newark Insurance Fund Commission, of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement for the benefit of the Board of Education of the Vocational Schools in the County of Essex, 60 Nelson Place, 1 North, Newark, New Jersey 07102, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark’s use of Donald M. Payne Sr. School of Technology, 498-544 W. Market St., Newark, New Jersey 07107, on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., for the State of the West Ward Address, sponsored by Council Member Dupre’ L. Kelly.
