The Municipal Council of the City of Newark supports and encourages all Nation States and International Organizations to assist in implementing the right of the world’s people to peace through the adoption of appropriate measures at both the national and international levels for the preservation of human civilization.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council endorses good public service and creates transformative public policy that enhances the quality of life for residents of the City of Newark, inhabitants, that represent a myriad of diverse communities and cultures from across the globe; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark is known as one of the most racially and ethnically diverse cities in the nation, it is a cohesive melting pot, a City that endorses diversity, equity, and inclusion city-wide; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council encourages peace and harmony amongst its constituency and promotes education and socialization through its city programming, gatherings and celebrations that foster unity; and
WHEREAS, it is through these continuous and successful efforts that the Municipal Council, on behalf of the City of Newark, supports harmonious and inclusive communities, as a model for international peace and encourages the world’s people to promote peace for the preservation of human civilization.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council on behalf of the City of Newark encourages all Nation States and International Organizations to assist in implementing the right of the world’s people to peace.
2. Copies of this Resolution shall be sent to the New Jersey (State) and United States (Federal) Legislators.
