Whereas, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the resident of Newark, while also brining attention and awareness to an issue that effects all segments of the society; and
Whereas, Annual Health Fair from Hope & Esperanza will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, on Montclair Avenue between Mount Prospect and Woodside Avenue from the hours of 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The fees for the application $50.00 and the permit $50.00 totaling $100.00 will be waived for the event; and
Whereas, Annual Health Fair from Hope & Esperanza provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations that will participate in this event to bring attention to the health awareness, issues, while providing vital services to individuals and families who need the resources being offered; and
Whereas, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Annual Health Fair from Hope & Esperanza to be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from the hours of 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM (Rain Date: Saturday, August 17, 2023 (from the hours of 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM) North Ward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Annual Health Fair from Hope & Esperanza to be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, on Montclair Avenue between Mount Prospect Avenue and Woodside Avenue from the hours of 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s fees for the application $50.00 and the permit $50.00 totaling $100.00.
STATEMENT
This resolution supports and declares co-sponsorship by the Municipal Council of the Annual Health Fair from Hope & Esperanza, waiving the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit and Application Fees for an event held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from the hours of 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM (Rain Date: Saturday, August 17, 2023) from the hours of 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM, North Ward, sponsored by Council Member Luis A. Quintana.
