WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation ("NJDOT") FY 2024 Bikeways State Aid Program provides Municipalities with grant funding for bicycle lane projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City") seeks to obtain funding from the FY 2024 Bikeways State Aid Program, to provide access to the Newark Riverfront Park District for bicyclists, by creating a two-way separated bikeway beginning at Newark Penn Station and terminating at Raymond Boulevard and Waydell Street in the East Ward; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to further the public interest by obtaining funding from the NJDOT FY 2024 Bikeways State Aid Program for the construction of a two-way separated bikeway along Raymond Boulevard (the Newark Morris Canal Bikeway Phase 2); and
