WHEREAS, the City of Newark Department of Public Safety, Police Division ("City" or "Licensee"), desires to enter into a License Agreement with Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, 201 Lyons Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112 ("Site") ("Licensor") to install, operate and maintain communications equipment, including but not limited to antennas, cables, connectors, wires, radio shelter and related transmission and reception hardware and software ("Equipment") for the City's new Radio System; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the License Agreement the Licensor shall allow the City to utilize a portion of the Site, comprising of approximately 1150 square feet located on the 13th floor of the D Tower and approximately 30 square feet located on the roof of the D Tower; and

WHEREAS, the new Radio System will allow for enhanced coverage city-wide, to support the Police Department, the Fire Department and other City Agencies and will allow for a more secure encrypted radio transmission; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council finds it in the City's best interest to enter into the License Agreement with Licensor.
