Original Resolution 7R3-a, adopted on April 6, 2022, authorized the City of Newark to submit an application to the New Jersey Bureau of Public Utilities requesting grant funding in the amount of $25,000.00 to create a Community Energy Plan with no municipal funds required.
A copy of Newark's Community Energy Plan is hereby attached.
A copy Memorandum of Agreement ("MOA") between the City of Newark and the Newark Green Team is hereby attached.

WHEREAS, the New Jersey Bureau of Public Utilities ("NJBPU") has created a Community Energy Plan Implementation Grant Program for municipalities to implement initiatives identified in their Community Energy Plan ; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Newark Green Team entered into a partnership to complete Newark's Community Energy Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Green Team developed Newark's Community Energy Plan by leading the planning process by facilitating the community engagement, analysis of existing data, and harmonization with existing and ongoing plans, which is attached; and
