WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City"), Department of Engineering, Division of Traffic and Signals (the "City"), on February 5, 2026 and February 11, 2026 advertised for receipt of bids for the Transit Village- 2023 Newark Morris Canal Bikeway, Contract #2024-07; and
WHEREAS, on February 24, 2026, the City issued Addendum No. 1 to revise the bid opening date due to weather conditions, and this addendum was transmitted via fax and certified mail to all bidders who obtained the bid package; and
WHEREAS, on March 5, 2026 the City received two (2) bids for the Transit Village 2023 - Newark Morris Canal Bikeway, Contract# 2024-07; and
WHEREAS, upon review of the bids, the Acting Director of the Department of Engineering, desires to accept the bid proposal by the lowest responsive and responsible bidder J.A. Alexander, Inc., 130-158 John F. Kennedy Drive North, Bloomfield, New Jersey 07003, and execute Contractt # 2024-07 Newark Morris Canal Bikeway for the total bid amount not to exceed Eight Hundred Nineteen Thousand Seventy-One and Nine Cents ($819,071.09); and
