The City of Newark’s Special Event Application Fee ($100.00), the “Better Together Annual Block Party” for the event will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service and entertainment to the residents of Newark while also bringing attention and awareness to all segments of the society; and
WHEREAS, the “Better Together Annual Block Party,” will be a wonderful event and a beautiful opportunity to share fellowship with approximately 150 neighbors enjoying a day filled with free food, Gospel DJ, Ministry of the Arts, games, giveaways, health screenings and helpful community resources; and
WHEREAS, the “Better Together Annual Block Party,” Saturday, September 19, 2026, South 17th Street between 18th Avenue and 19th Avenue, Newark, from the hours of 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the “Better Together Annual Block Party,” Saturday, September 19, 2026, South 17th Street between 18th Avenue and 19th Avenue, Newark, from the hours of 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
The Municipal Council is sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark’s Special Event Permit Application Fee ($100.00) however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above ...
