WHEREAS, the City of Newark, Department of Water and Sewer Utilities (the "City") desires to partner with Newark Board of Education (NBOE) to facilitate an annual summer program for twenty-five days between the months of June and August designed to educate Newark students about their city's water facilities, infrastructure, and water treatment operation. In addition, this program will provide hands-on experience and insight into the myriad of well-paid, professional career opportunities in the water industry; and

WHEREAS, the program provides Educational Experiences for 6th graders to 12th graders highlighting the fascinating Newark-Pequannock Water Treatment Facility (PWTP) and the 35,000-acre watershed property owned by the City; and
