The City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00) for street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances an establish new ones; and

WHEREAS, Zion Towers Family Day provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, families and friends that have resided in the community by sharing games, food and networking; and

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Zion Towers Family Day, which will be held on Renner Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from the hours of 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Zion Towers Family Day, to be held on Renner Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.

2. This Fee Waiver is hereby ratified from August 26, 2023 to the date of adoption of this authorizing Resolution.

3. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
