The City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00) for street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances an establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, Tillinghast Block Party provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, families and friends that have resided in the community by sharing games, food and networking; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Tillinghast Block Party, which will be held on Tillinghast Street between Osborne Terrace and Clinton Place, on Saturday, September 2, 2023, (Rain Date: Saturday, September 9, 2023) from the hours of 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Tillinghast Block Party, to be held on Tillinghast Street between Osborne Terrace and Clinton Place, on Saturday, September 2, 2023, (Rain Date: Saturday, September 9, 2023) from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M.
2. This Fee Waiver is hereby ratified from September 2, 2023 to the date of adoption of this authorizing Resolution.
