WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness has funds available to support the City of Newark Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS); and

WHEREAS, the Department of Child and Family Well-Being desires to continue providing emergency preparedness through planning, training, equipment acquisition and exercises in order to respond to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive (CBRNE) event and/or natural disaster; and

WHEREAS, on June 10, 2011, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of Child and Family Well-Being submitted an application to the State of New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, requesting grant funding in the amount of $281,693.00 from the State of New Jersey Office for Emergency Preparedness and Response to a CBRNE and/or natural disaster; and
