WHEREAS, the New Jersey Historic Trust (the "Trust"), through their 2026 Preserve New Jersey Historic Preservation Fund (the "Preserve New Jersey Fund"), provides an annual source of matching grants from the state's corporate business tax for historic preservation project activities including preservation, rehabilitation, or restoration as defined by the Secretary of the Interior's Standards; and

WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City") finds it in the public interest to submit an application to the Trust seeking funding from the Preserve New Jersey Fund to update its preservation plan for the restoration and rehabilitation of the interior of Newark City Hall; and

WHEREAS, the Acting Director of the Department of Engineering intends to prepare an application to the Trust, requesting a Historic Site Management Grant in the amount of Seventy Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($75,000.00) from the Preserve New Jersey Fund for...
