WHEREAS, the City of Newark, Department of Public Safety, Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (OEM) requests to enter into a contract with University Hospital ("UH") an instrumentality of the State of New Jersey, corporate and politic, having its principal offices at 150 Bergen Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark was awarded $200,000.00, from the FY2015 Urban Areas Security Initiative grant (UASI) for training purposes by New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness which shall fund this service (a copy is attached hereto and made a part hereof) and;
WHEREAS, the Coordinator of Newark's Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security on behalf of the City of Newark has determined that it would be in the best interest of the City to retain the services of ("UH") to provide Bleed Control and CPR/First Aid training to Newark First Responders (Police and Fire) for Active Shooter exercises; and
