Deleted along 18th Avenue, eastbound on the southerly side thereof at West End Avenue at the nearside location, beginning at the westerly curb line of West End Avenue and extending 100 feet westerly therefrom. WHEREAS, New Jersey Transit's Bus Safety Department conducted an investigation for proposed bus stop location changes due to safety concerns; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City of Newark, Department of Engineering, Division of Traffic and Signals, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(a), the following described locations are added and deleted as a bus stop:
ADD BUS STOP:
1. In the West Ward, along 18th Avenue, eastbound on the southerly side thereof:
a. Carolina Avenue, nearside.
Beginning at the westerly curb line of Carolina Avenue and extending 100ft westerly therefrom.
DELETED BUS STOP:
2. In the West Ward, along 18th Avenue, eastbound on the southerly side thereof:
a. West End Avenue, nearside.
Beginning at the westerly curb line of West End Avenue and extending 100ft westerly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate, relocate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
