WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-f, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc. for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and
WHEREAS, Overseer Dr. Bryant R. Ali, known as the 'Pastor in the Hood', an internet radio APAL Co-host, author of "When a Father Fails" and "Trapped and Looking for An Exit", a community activist, counselor, teacher, and preacher with an urban twist. A native of Northern New Jersey he served as Pastor of New Psalmist Worship Center. He was clinically trained and educated in the Newark, Orange and Hillside Public School systems. He attended several higher learning centers and held a Doctorate of Divinity Degree in Holistic Theology; and
WHEREAS, Overseer Dr. Bryant R. Ali, was the past President of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Newark and Vicinity and served as the Spiritual Counselor for the Newark Anti-Violence Coalition; as well as on numerous boards: the Board of The Newark Community Health Centers, Inc.; CCRB; UMDNJ Bio-Ethics; UMDNJ Institutional Review Board; NJ AIDS Partnership and Irvington Counseling Center. He also served as President of the City of Irvington's Planning Board; and
