AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29:5-26, PERMIT FEE; DURATION OF PERMIT, OF TITLE 29, STREETS AND SIDEWALKS, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY INCREASING THE FEES AND DEPOSITS.

WHEREAS, the City of Newark, Department of Engineering has determined that it is necessary to adjust the permit fees and deposits for Occupation of Streets by Construction Equipment City-wide.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

Section 1. That Section 29:5-26, Permit Fee; Duration of Permit, of Title 29, Streets and Sidewalks, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended as follows:
29:5-26. PERMIT FEE; DURATION OF PERMIT.
The Director of Engineering or his authorized representative shall not issue such permit until there shall be paid to the City the sum of one hundred fifty ($150.00) dollars three hundred fifty ($350.00) dollars as a fee and two hundred ($200.00) dollars five hundred ($500.00) dollars as a deposit for storage, use or operation upon any street or public place, of each piece of equipment referred to in the preceding Section for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days.
Section 2. Any existing ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication, and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Statement:
This ordinance increases the permit fees and deposits for Occupation of Streets by Construction Equipment City-wide.
