WHEREAS, without any applications required by the City of Newark (hereinafter the "City"), the State of New Jersey, Department of Labor and Workforce Development granted the City Three Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($390,000.00) in the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act - Other On-the Job Training (WIOA-OJT) Funds, to be provided to the Newark Workforce Development Board (NWDB), for the Program Year 2021, (July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022); and
WHEREAS, this funding is to allow the local workforce board the ability to write On-The-Job Training contracts with employers throughout their county to place Dislocated Workers into employment; a maximum of up to a 50% reimbursement for six (6) month period for full-time training that leads to full-time employment upon completion; and
WHEREAS, these grant funds must be fully obligated by June 30, 2022 and fully expended by June 30, 2023; and
