WHEREAS, on or about November 04, 2024, the City of Newark ("City") through the Department of Public Safety, Fire Division, submitted an application to obtain from the United States Department of Homeland Security a Fiscal Year 2024 Assistance to Firefighters Grant to be used to provide specialized firefighter training for the period commencing September 27, 2025 and ending September 26, 2027 (a copy of the grant application is attached hereto and made a part hereof); and
WHEREAS, as a result, on September 20, 2025, the City's application was approved for a matching grant in the amount of Six Hundred Three Thousand Ninety-Eight Dollars and Eighteen Cents ($603,098.18) (a copy of the award letter is attached hereto and made a part hereof); and
WHEREAS, as a condition of receiving the grant, the City must contribute matching funds in the amount of Sixty Thousand Three Hundred Nine Dollars and Eighty-Two Cents ($60,309.82), which funds are from the following line appropriation of the Department of Public Safe...
