WHEREAS, the Municipal Council previously adopted Resolution 7R8-b on February 22, 2019 appointing John L. Nikoe, previously of Newark, New Jersey 07107, as a Constable for a period of three (3) years, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council adopted Resolution 7R8-a on June 6, 2019 approving the Constable Bond for John L. Nikoe; and
WHEREAS, the sponsoring Council Member, for reasons related to change in residency, wishes to rescind the Constable appointment of John L. Nikoe.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Constable Appointment of John L. Nikoe is hereby immediately rescinded in its entirety.
2. Upon adoption of this resolution, the City Clerk shall immediately notify Mr. Nikoe that his appointment as a Constable has been rescinded.
3. The Constable, upon notification by the City Clerk, shall immediately return his official identification card to the City Clerk and cease and desist from serving warrants and all other activities, duties and responsibilities of a Constable.
4. A copy of this resolution rescinding the appointment shall be forwarded by the Office of the City Clerk to the Acting Director of the Department of Public Safety.
