The funding source is the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and Economic Opportunity. Seventy-five (75%) percent of grant funding must be committed by December 21, 2023, and all funds fully obligated by June 30, 2024 and fully expended by December 31, 2024.
No municipal funds nor commitment of municipal resources, or staff are required for the receipt or acceptance of these grant funds.

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and Economic Opportunity granted the City of Newark the following Work First New Jersey (WFNJ) grant through the Newark Workforce Development Board (NWDB), for Program Year 2023 (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024) for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and General Assistance/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (GA & GA/SNAP); and
WHEREAS, the Program Year 2023 funds must be fully obligated by June 30, 2024 and fully expended by December 31, 2024. A minimum requirement of seventy-five percent (75%) of the funding must be committed by December 31, 2023; and
