WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation for $630,000.00, to provide the Clean Fleet Electric Vehicles Incentive Program and no adequate provision has been made in the 2025 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by the award notice issued May 1, 2024, the State of New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) has awarded the City of Newark Clean Fleet Electric Vehicles Incentive Program funding in the amount of $630,000.00 to improve New Jersey's air quality for a better environment for all residents and to assist Local and State Government entities in transitioning to electrically-powered fleets; and
