WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-120, Abraham Maury, of Newark, New Jersey 07107, was appointed as a Constable, pursuant to Resolution 7R8-h, adopted at the September 7, 2023, Regular Municipal Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-125, Abraham Maury, of Newark, New Jersey 07107, must give a bond, in such form and amount as prescribed by the Governing Body and approved as to form and sufficiency by the Corporation Counsel and Municipal Council; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-121, a Constable must qualify within thirty (30) days of the initial adoption of the Resolution of Appointment, and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The term of the Constable appointment of Abraham Maury, of Newark, New Jersey 07107, is for a term of three (3) years from the date of appointment or the expiration of the Constable Bond, whichever occurs first.
2. The Constable Bond, in the amount of $5,000.00, issued to Abraham Maury, of Newark, New Jersey 07107, is approved as to form, amount, and sufficiency.
