WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $201,515.00 for the Delancy Street Roadway Improvements and no adequate provision has been made in the 2015 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, on December 17, 2014, the Delancy Street Roadway Improvements was approved in the amount of $201,515.00 by Resolution 7R4-c. Also, on January 5, 2011, the Delancy Street Roadway Improvements was approved in the amount of $1,199,990.00 by Resolution 7R4-c. On April 6, 2011, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) notified the City of Newark that the Delancy Street Roadway Improvements projects were to be combined into one project, which will allow construction to occur simultaneously. The Department of Engineering is requesting approval for $201,515.00 bringing the total for Delancy Street Roadway Improvements Project to $1,401,505.00; and
