WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of Two Million Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,012,500.00), for the Childhood Lead Program and no adequate provision has been made in the 2024 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by the Letter of Intent dated June 25, 2024, the New Jersey Department of Health, CLEP Program awarded the City of Newark funds in the amount of Two Million Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,012,500.00). The aforementioned program will provide funds for the provision of health care and supportive services to the residents of the City of Newark; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides that the Governing Body, by a two-thirds vote, may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made ...
