WHEREAS, the Department of Health and Community Wellness provides nutritional services, nutritional education, immunization screening and education, voter registration, and family care enrollment through the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program; and

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey, Department of Health and Senior Services (NJDOH), has made grant funds available for the provision of a Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), in the City of Newark; and

WHEREAS, on June 20, 2017, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Acting Director of the Department of Health and Community Wellness submitted an application to the State of New Jersey, Department of Health and Senior Services, requesting grant funding in the amount of One Million, Eight Hundred Sixty-One Thousand, Eight Hundred Nineteen Dollars and Zero Cents ($1,861,819.00), for the provision of the Supplemental Nutrition Services for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in the City of Newark (a copy of said applic...
