WHEREAS, the City of Newark’s Department of Health and Community Wellness (“DHCW”) provides childhood lead exposure prevention services for children six (6) months through children younger than seventeen (17) years of age under the Childhood Lead Exposure Prevention (CLEP) Program; and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Health (“DOH”), 369 South Warren Street, Trenton, New Jersey 08608, has made grant funds available through the SFY 2027 Childhood Lead Exposure and Prevention (CLEP) Grant Program to address blood lead levels between 3.5-4.9 ug/dl and conduct outreach to families; and
WHEREAS, on or about July 18, 2026, on behalf of the City of Newark (the “City”), the Director of the DHCW, submitted an application to the DOH’s CLEP Program, requesting grant funding in the amount of One Million Seven Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Twenty-Five Dollars and Zero Cents.
