WHEREAS, on September 4, 2014 through Resolution 7R3-G , the Municipal Council authorized the Mayor to accept the following Youth ($2,188,463.00), Adult And Dislocated Worker ($3,102,315.00) Workforce Investment Act grant funds pursuant to the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, PL 105-220, August 7, 1998, 112 Stat 936 (hereinafter referred to as "WIA") for a combined funding total of $5,290,778.00; and
WHEREAS, there exists a need for NewarkWORKS to enter into a contract with an entity that can provide educational services to (20) youth clients in the areas of "Quality Dental" training pursuant to the provisions of the WIA for the 2014-2015 Program Year July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, on September 13, 2014 NewarkWORKS advertised a Request for Proposal, returnable on October 8, 2014 for educational and training services under the provisions of the WIA for Program Year 2014-2015 (a copy of the Request for Proposal is attached hereto and made part thereof); and
