WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $91,500.00 bringing total program resources to $1,584,000.00, for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program and no adequate provision has been made in the 2012 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by award letter dated February 17, 2012, from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, the City of Newark has been awarded $91,500.00 to provide nutritional services, nutritional education, immunization screening and education, voter registration and family care enrollment through participation in the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (WIC) Program to the residents of the City of Newark; and
