WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of One Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($110,000.00), for NJ State Navigator Program Grant, and no adequate provision has been made in the 2026 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by the Notice of letter dated October 15, 2025, the New Jersey State Department of Banking and Insurance (NJBOI) awarded the City of Newark funds in the amount of One Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($110,000.00). The aforementioned program will provide funds for the continued provision of medical care and supportive services to residents of the City of Newark and surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides that the Governing Body, by a two-thirds vote, may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period bet...
