WHEREAS, the New Jersey Transit's Bus Safety Department conducted an investigation for the proposed bus stop designation and found it acceptable as a bus stop; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City's Department of Engineering, Division of Traffic and Signals, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statues of New Jersey, the following described location is added as a bus stop:
ADD BUS STOP:
1. In the South Ward, along Pennsylvania Avenue, northbound, on the easterly side thereof:
Emmet Street, nearside.
Beginning at the southerly curb line of Emmet Street and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate, relocate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the South Ward, the following described location is hereby designated as a bus stop:
Pennsylvania Avenue, northbound on the easterly side at Emmet Street, nearside location. Beginning at the southerly curb line of Emmet Street and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.
2. No municipal funds expended for this act.
3. No Amendment to this Resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council.
