WHEREAS, the City of Newark, Department of Public Safety seeks to expand and enhance its Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) infrastructure to serve the residents of the City of Newark during emergencies; and

WHEREAS, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Public Safety Director submitted an application to the State of New Jersey, Office of Information Technology, Office of Emergency Telecommunications Services, requesting funding in the amount of $284,717.03, to fund equipment upgrades to the Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) 911 System, with no City funds required ("Application"); and

WHEREAS, as a result of the submission of the Application, the City of Newark was awarded the grant in the amount of $284,717.03 (Grant Award #FY26-100-137-012); and

WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council finds it in the best interest of the City of Newark to accept the Grant Award in the amount of $284,717.03, execute the Grant Agreement with the State of New, Jersey Office of Information Technology, Office of Emergency Telecommunications Services, wherein no municipal funds are r...
