WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service and entertainment to the residents of Newark while also bringing attention and awareness to all segments of the society; and
WHEREAS, the South 19th Street Fun in the Sun Block Party event will enrich the community by giving our area an opportunity to get to meet and socialize with the neighbors and youngsters that we rarely see, and also listening to music playing, food and soft drinks are being shared; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the South 19th Street Fun in the Sun Block Party being held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 (Rain Date, Sunday, August 23, 2026), South 19th Street between Avon Avenue and Springfield Avenue Newark, from the hours 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the South 19th Street Fun in the Sun Block Party being held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 (Rain Date, Sunday, Sunday 23, 2026), on South 19th Street between Avon Avenue and Springfield Avenue Newark, from the hours of 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
