WHEREAS, the Municipal Council adopted Resolution 7R8-b on December 29, 2020 establishing the municipal paid holiday schedule for 2021; and
WHEREAS, the municipal paid holiday schedule for 2021 needs to be amended to correct and add certain municipal holidays.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
For Calendar Year 2021 the following scheduled days shall be considered as paid holidays.
January 1 New Year’s Day
January 18 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday
February 12 Lincoln’s Birthday
February 15 President’s Day/Washington’s Birthday
April 2 Good Friday
May 31 Memorial Day
July 5 Independence Day (Observed)
September 6 Labor Day
October 11 Columbus Day
November 2 Election Day
November 11 Veteran’s Day
November 25-26 Thanksgiving
December 24 Christmas Day (Observed)
December 31 New Year’s Day 2022 (Observed)

This resolution amends and establishes the 2021 Municipal Paid Holiday Schedule for employees of the City of Newark.
