WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $ 6,527,010.00 for the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) Adult, Youth and Dislocated Worker Program and no provision has been made in the 2026 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by award letters, dated June 16, 2026 from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the City of Newark has been awarded $ 6,527,010.00 to provide assistance in job placement and to train Adults...
