This Resolution authorizes the City of Newark to apply for grant funding for $3,561,552.00 and to accept any lesser and greater amount from the NJDOT Local Aid Infrastructure Program, with no municipal funds required.

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation ("NJDOT") for the Local Aid infrastructure Fund Program (LAIF program) provides grant funding for intersections that are in need of improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City") desires to obtain funding from the 2024 LAIF Program to improve Municipal intersection improvements in the designated project location; and
WHEREAS, the Acting Director of the Department of Engineering will submit an electronic grant application on June 26, 2024 to NJDOT, on behalf of the City of Newark, requesting grant funding in the amount of Three Million Five Hundred Sixty-One Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-Two Dollars and Zero Cents ($3,561,552.00), from the New Jersey Department of Transportation's 2024 LAIF Program, to improve the Municipal Intersection Improvements project...
