AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, IN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX, NEW JERSEY AMENDING CAPITAL ORDINANCE 6PSF-C ADOPTED ON JULY 19, 2023.

WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the “City”) previously adopted Capital Ordinance 6PSF-c on July 19, 2023, providing for various capital projects from the Capital Improvement Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City finds it necessary to amend certain projects authorized by the Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the City now desires to amend Section 2 of the Original Ordinance to cancel the appropriated amount of $1,200,000.00 for the 911 Zentron System and allocate the funds to the Body Worn Camera and in-car Axon System.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of the Original Ordinance is hereby amended in part to read as follows:
SECTION 2. The capital expenditures authorized by this Capital Ordinance include, are as follows:
1. Elevator Repair and Replacement for Municipal Buildings City Wide
Estimated Cost: $2,500,000.00
2. Upgrades to TV Studio and Council Chambers
Estimated Cost: $1,103,664.00
3. Street Resurfacing City Wide
Estimated Cost: $1,000,000.00
4. Body Worn Camera and in-car Axon System
Estimated Cost: $2,780,000.00
SECTION 3. Except as expressly set forth above and amended hereby, the provisions of the Original Ordinance remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect twenty (20) days after final option.
STATEMENT
The Ordinance amends Capital Ordinance 6PSF-c adopted by the City of Newark on July 19, 2023, to cancel $1,2000,000.00 for the 911 Zentron System and allocate those funds to the Body Worn Camera and in-car Axon System.
