WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $3,000,000.00 for the Brick City Peace Collective (BCPC) Grant, and no adequate provision has been made in the 2023 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the same; and
WHEREAS, by a Notice of Award dated July 1, 2022 the State of New Jersey, Department of Community Affairs, Division of Housing and Community Resources awarded the City of Newark the Brick City Peace Collective (BCPC) Grant in the amount of $3,000,000.00 to foster initiatives, programs and opportunities to reduce violence and strengthen relationships between law enforcement and Newark co...
