A motion requesting that the Office of the Governor review the proposed 2026 Budget and increase dollars for the LIHEAP program and other utility assistance programs assisting renters and homeowners in mortgage and rental relieve, in addition to reviewing the Summer Termination Program which has been extended to August 31, 2026. However, the LIHEAP process, particularly in Newark, is experiencing bureaucratic delays and residents are having their services turned off; furthermore, requesting the New Jersey Senior Freeze Program funding be restored to its original amount to aid seniors and the disabled struggling with the rising cost of living.
