WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of Four Million, Two Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand, Two Hundred Sixty-Six Dollars and Zero Cents ($4,229,266.00), for the HIV Emergency Relief Program and no adequate provision has been made in the 2024 Temporary Budget for the aforementioned purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by the Notice of Award dated May 15, 2024, the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded the City of Newark additional funds in the amount of Four Million, Two Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand, Two Hundred Sixty-Six Dollars and Zero Cents ($4,229,266.00), bringing the total award to Twelve Million Five Hundred Ninety Eight Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy One Dollars and Zero Cents ($12,598,771,00) for FY2024.
