WHEREAS, the City of Newark's Department of Health and Community Wellness provides childhood lead exposure prevention services for children six (6) months through children younger than seventeen (17) years of age under the Childhood Lead Exposure Prevention (CLEP) program; and

WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Health, has made grant funds available for the provision of such services through the Childhood Lead Exposure Prevention (CLEP) program; and

WHEREAS, on September 7, 2020, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Health and Community Wellness, submitted an application to the New Jersey Department of Health, 369 South Warren Street, Trenton, New Jersey 08608, requesting grant funding in the amount of One Million, Four Hundred Thousand and Zero Cents ($1,400,000.00), for the Childhood Lead Exposure Prevention program, to provide lead exposure prevention, community outreach, case management, environmental interventions, and lead abatement services for children with Elevated Blood Levels (EBLs) of 5 and above...
