WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) FY-2023 Transit Village Grant Program for LA-2023 TV provides municipalities with grant funding for bicycle lane projects; and
WHEREAS, on July 1, 2022, the Acting Director of the Department of Engineering, on behalf of the City of Newark ("City"), submitted an application to NJDOT requesting grant funding from the NJDOT FY-2023 Transit Village Grant Program for construction of the Newark Morris Canal Bikeway Project, identified as LA-2023 TV Newark City Newark Morris Canal Bikeway ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, on August 3, 2022, the Municipal Council adopted Resolution 7R3-b ratifying and authorizing the Acting Director of the Department of Engineering to apply for, accept, and execute grant documents for a grant award from the NJDOT FY-2023 Transit Village Grant Program for construction of the Project; and
