The City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00) for street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances an establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the Annual Wilbur Avenue Block Party provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, families and friends that have resided in the community by sharing games, food and networking; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Annual Wilbur Avenue Block Party, which will be held on Wilbur Avenue between Bergen Street and Elizabeth Avenue (South Ward), on Saturday, August 19, 2023, (Rain Date: Saturday, August 26, 2023), from the hours of 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Annual Wilbur Avenue Block Party, to be held on Wilbur Avenue between Bergen Street and Elizabeth Avenue (South Ward), on Saturday, August 19, 2023, (Rain Date: Saturday, August 26, 2023), from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. This Fee Waiver is hereby ratified from August 19, 2023 to the date of adoption of this authorizing Resolution.
