WHEREAS, the City of Newark’s (The “City”) Department of Health and Community Wellness (“DHCW”) provides nutritional services, nutritional education, immunization screening and education, voter registration, and family care enrollment through the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women Infants and Children (WIC); and
WHEREAS, on January 7, 2026, the Municipal Council adopted Resolution 7R5-a which authorized the Mayor and/or his designee, the Director of the DHCW, to apply for and accept grant funds from the State of New Jersey, Department of Health, Division of Family Health Services (“NJDOH”), for the provision of Supplemental Nutrition Services for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in the City of Newark in the amount of Two Million Two Hundred Sixty Eight Thousand, Five Hundred Fourteen Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,268,514.00)...
