The City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($150.00) for the street festival will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the residents of Newark, while also bringing attention and awareness to an issue that effects all segments of the society; and
WHEREAS, the Brick City Jam is an annual cultural festival in Newark, NJ celebrating hip-hop through graffiti, music, fashion and community engagement. The City of Newark's Special Event Application Fee of One Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($(150.00) for the event will be waived; and
WHEREAS, the Brick City Jam serves as a platform for young creators to share their stories and interpretations of hip-hop culture, fostering collaboration across disciplines. It underscores Newark's role as a cultural hub, embracing the past while carving out space for the future of hip-hop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Juneteenth Market that will be held on 4th Street and Abington Avenue, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 through Monday, July 21, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
2. The Municipal Council is sponsoring this event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee of One Hundred Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($150.00), however, it does not ...
